The Literacy & Learning Center (TL&LC) mission is to enrich lives and expand the knowledge of children, adults, and families through diverse educational programs that advance literacy and to promote lifelong learning.
By partnering with the The Literacy and Learning Center of Highlands, we raised the funds needed to bring the Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL) to Macon County. DPIL mails one high-quality, age-appropriate book (that has been selected by a team of educational experts) each month to every registered child from birth to age five. The cost to support a child for the full five years is about $150.
With around 1,000 children currently enrolled, ongoing fundraising is essential to keep this wonderful program thriving for years to come.
And the best part? Every child in Macon County is eligible to receive these free books!
